Diane Mortensen works primarily in acrylic and mixed media (collage) of somewhat abstracted images relating to landscapes, earth and water.

Handwoven tableware is one of the key products that customers look for in Islandweaver Studio. There are always at least 12 different colourways of her mats and runners. They are woven of the highest quality yarns and are woven to last for many many years. All are easy care: machine washable and dryable, requiring no other care.

Encaustic painting is an ancient Greek technique done with beeswax, damar resin and coloured pigments. A time-consuming process, nonetheless it yields a look that can't be duplicated by any other painting method. It creates a feeling of depth because of the many many layers of wax that separate the elements.
