In the latter days of my life, I have managed to seize scraps of time, since 1999, to take up the pursuit of becoming a watercolor artist. Relying on hits and misses, books and articles, and communication with other established artists, I consider myself primarily as self-taught. Friends and family have persuaded me to display my work.
My time consuming responsibilities of household and health care employment led me to develop a “splash and dash” style and I was drawn automatically to the exciting, fluid, light enhancing qualities of the watercolor medium.
My favorite paintings, have been done very quickly.
Laboring over detail is not my cup of tea.
I hope that others will find that the spontaneity, movement and mood expressed in my work will evoke in them a greater awareness of the oneness of life and nature
