A self taught sculptor, Lawrence's creative process is driven by the transformation of steel, a cold rigid material, into a lively animated figure, which communicates to all the joy of life.

He is drawn to large,somewhat representational figures. Mild steel is his medium of choice.

More recently fused glass sculptures have been added to his repertoire.
