I was given my first camera in 1958. Since then, I have been interested in photography, making a darkroom in my basement. I graduated from purely manual cameras and darkrooms, to automatic cameras, to digital cameras and computers, keeping to Pentax gear throughout. I have been a member of 6 camera clubs, currently Victoria Camera Club, and have written and made presentations about photography.
Born in England, I have lived in Victoria BC most my life, graduating from University of Victoria, and attending several other universities, including the University of Chicago. I spent my working years at Camosun College from the day it opened, teaching Psychology and Mathematics. I am now retired.
Teaching psychology has helped me see and understand the world around me. Combined with a lifetime of photography, I see shape and colour in all I observe, capturing my inspiration on film. At present, my photographic skills are used in art and stock photography. My photographic interests are eclectic, particularly travel, architecture, close-up, and artists of all ages. Any subject that comes in front of my lens is worthy of a photograph.
I hope you enjoy looking at my photographs as much as I did in taking them.
