Rogers Pass peak elevation of 4,534 feet/1382 metres lays at the summit of Glacier National Park. The facility operates the Park's main Interpretation Centre and Information Centre which is the principal source of information regarding the park. The Centre provides services such as; backcountry reports, notices, closed area entry permits, and National Park permits.

The nearest commercial airports are at Kamloops, Kelowna and Calgary. The only commercial accommodation available in Glacier National Park is the Glacier Park Lodge in Rogers Pass.

History:
Named after Major A.B. Rogers who finally discovered a key pass / route through the rugged Selkirk Mountains 1881, Rogers Pass was first used by the Canadian Pacific Railways in 1885.

The road construction was completed in 1962 but at the cost of the lives of 250 of the workers who were buried by snowy avalanches.

Today the tunneled road way protects travels and Parks Canada operates the world's largest mobile avalanche control program for the highway and railway system of Rodgers Pass.
